Horn Stash is hiring for the following position at our Palatine, IL location:

Sales Associate 

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Retail sales - including instruments, cases, and accessories
  • Customer service; all aspects of customer interaction, including walk-ins, emails, phone calls, handling repair drop-off and pick-ups for Fix This! Musical Instrument Repair, and more
  • Consumer Contracts and Agreements
  • Website management - updating and maintaining instrument-for-sale webpages

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Music degree preferred; professional experience great; dedicated to strengthening our community of musicians
  • Able to understand and communicate effectively and be comfortable working with beginners, professionals and musicians of all ages and backgrounds
  • Great verbal/social skills and willingness to work well with both customers and staff
  • Proficiency or aptitude for workplace technology - including POS software, Microsoft and Google suites

This permanent position requires a minimum of 16 hours a week, including Saturdays, and can go up to full time (40 hours a week). Additionally, there may be extra hours available during busy times of year and special events, which sometimes occur on Sundays.

This retail position is for our Palatine location dealing specifically in band instruments, so proficiency in a brass or woodwind instrument is required. The work environment is comfortable but can sometimes be high-paced and stressful.  The ideal candidate would be detail oriented and thorough, be an extremely good communicator, be able to multitask and coordinate multiple projects to completion, have a great sense of humor, and be supportive in a team atmosphere. Above all, applicants must be self-directed, reliable, responsible, and passionate about music.
