From Bach:

"The Bach 180 series trumpets are the number one selling professional trumpets in the world. The 180S37 features a #37 one-piece hand-hammered professional bell that produces a warm sound with great projection, allowing this instrument to work well in multiple musical settings—from jazz to concert or solo playing. The #25 leadpipe allows for slight resistance that is effective in centering tone production. The silver-plate finish provides a controlled brilliance to the overall sound. These features combined with a .459" medium-large bore allow the player to produce a well-rounded sound well suited for all types of music."

This Bach Strad dates back to the mid-1970s, and it is in stellar shape for its age! No plating wear is evident anywhere on the instrument. The only marks found are from regular maintenance, repairs, and use over the instrument's life. Light surface scratches can be found traveling down the bell's stem, and and a few more are evident on the upper outer tuning slide. No scratches have penetrated any plating. Our professional brass technician spent a lot of time prepping this instrument for sale, so signs of their work may be evident as well, but only if you look closely. Our tech had to clean and lube the instrument, resolder the front Z-brace (bell to leadpipe), 2nd valve slide pull knob, and 2nd valve slide crook, and also remove some dents from the bell, leadpipe, and area surrounding the front Z-brace. The bell was also a little crooked from traveling, so our tech spent time straightening that out as well. Some faint dent scars remain around the front z-brace as a result.

Despite needing so much work, this horn is in great shape, and is an even better player. It's from the generation of Stradivarius trumpets that pre-date the modern design. That means that this trumpet comes with 2-piece valve casings, as well as intonation aids (pinky hook, 3rd valve slide ring, 1st valve slide saddle) that are from the Mount Vernon era. This horn would be perfect for anyone looking for a vintage silver plated Strad 37 in excellent playing condition.
