This Conn 12M bari sax has an incredible sound at an incredible price. Based on our research, we believe that this horn was made in Elkhart, IN in 1960. Around that time, Conn had begun moving some (mainly student-level) models to their factory in Nogales, AZ, but the 12M remained in Elkhart for several years after that. This is a great horn that came out of an excellent factory and it's got a lot of life left in it.
This Conn 12M bari arrived here in what we would consider "significantly used condition." Luckily, our fantastic techs always jump head-first into big repair projects, and the results on this one were fantastic! Lots of work was needed, and lots of work is what this saxophone got. Numerous pad replacements and adjustments were required, as well as a neck cork replacement. Dents were removed from the bell and neck, and the horn was given a full disassembly and bath in our ultrasonic tank. After all that, this horn is back to playing the way it deserves to! Evidence of dentwork can be found on the neck and on the bell, and the lacquer is heavily worn throughout the instrument. Previous signs of repair (not done by us) include: guards showing soldering work, neck hook has been resoldered, dentwork in bow.
Stand not included, but can be purchased separately at a discount.
