Getting vintage Selmer-Paris instruments in at our shop is always fun for us, and getting to add one to out inventory is even more fun, but finding a new home for a vintage Selmer-Paris instrument is the most fun. Coming in at nearly 100 years old, this trombone is still a real beaut! Selmer's lacquer ages in such a beautiful way, and almost all of this instrument's lacquer is still intact. Some wear is showing on the text engraving and tuning slide, and some raw brass spots can be found on the gooseneck, but that's it!
This is a perfect trombone for a collector, or for anyone looking for that vintage 20's/30's brass sound. Our professional brass technician gave this horn a thorough ultrasonic cleaning, and that is all that was needed. There are no dents to be found anywhere on the instrument, and the inner slides are in absolutely perfect condition. Everything is aligned and moving freely and easily. The mouthpiece is in excellent shape as well. The trim on the outside of the trombone's case is showing some wear, but the interior is in pristine condition. Besides the case trim, the only other cosmetic blemish on the horn would be that some of the lacquer is starting to wear off on the bell engraving. Whomever owned this horn previously took great care of it. Which is good news for you! Come check it out and be prepared to fall in love!
