"Today, as always, the F. Besson Trumpet is meticulously hand-crafted in the 125 year old Besson tradition of matchless artistry. Known as the 'Trumpet player's trumpet' it is acclaimed by the world's most discriminating artists as the ultimate in design, craftsmanship and tonal perfection."

Besson has been one of the primary heavy-hitters in the brass instrument game for nearly 200 years, and while they've slowed down on their trumpet manufacturing in the 21st century, they're most certainly not going anywhere. Their trumpets were so beloved and in-demand that they were willing to make their MEHA (Model 130) trumpet in any key that a play asked them to. Premium pricing was surely involved, but very few manufacturers offered the same option for their flagship models. 

This one, of course, is in good old Bb. Hailing from the early 1950's this trumpet features Besson's post-war trademarks, such as a 0.470" bore, and plastic ring-shaped valve guides. The plating is in generally good shape, but is showing some wear. The 2nd valve slide, leadpipe, and bell stem (near the valve section), are showing mild wear. There is also some early signs of pitting on the leadpipe, and a patch needed to be installed to seal a crack near the receiver. 

Outside of installing the patch, our professional brass technician also disassembled and cleaned this instrument inside and out, and also hand-polished the trumpet to its best-possible shine. It's got a ton of character, and would be a perfect trumpet for anyone looking a classic, commercial sound from one of the most well-known brass manufacturers in history.
