The Leblanc company has been known for many instruments over the years, and flugelhorn may not be one of the first instruments to come to mind. However, Leblanc's classic flugelhorn has earned its place in the flugel community as one of the more reliable, consistent flugelhorns to come out of the 60's. While it lacks the slide triggers that many flugel players have grown to favor, many have said that there is no need for them with this instrument, as they were manufactured very consistently, and all had excellent intonation. The tight 0.413" bore is really easy to fill up, and the response out of the bell is warm and mellow.

Our professional brass technician cleaned this flugelhorn in our ultrasonic tank, and also buffed out some acid bleed from the bell crook as it bends around at the bottom of the instrument. Some re-lacquering was done, but we were unable to match the aged finish of the rest of the instrument. No other work was required.

Cosmetically, this horn is in good shape! The lacquer, with the exception of the bell bow, is very much intact, though players may notice some spots on the bell throat begin to weaken. There are also a pair of scratches around the lyre holder attachment on the bell, and a scuff mark on the underside of the leadpipe near the valve section. Cosmetic blemishes aside, this horn is an excellent player, and we're sure you'll agree once you've come out to try it! Stop by Horn Stash today!
