From Yamaha:
"This professional piccolo trumpet has a smaller bell and bore size, producing a sound more suitable for solo or chamber music. This model has four piston valves and Bb/A exchangeable leadpipes."
This horn's one-piece yellow brass bell will offer players the bright response that most piccolo players desire, and the 0.413" bore will keep a player's air nice and focused to hit the highest of the high notes. The compact design allows for easy transport, and a very low weight, so players can focus on accuracy and intonation, rather than balancing their trumpet.
As far as 30 to 40-year-old instruments go, this trumpet is in great shape. There was a pinky hook added at some point during its stay with its previous owner. No other parts have ever required replacement. The pinky hook itself is raw brass, and the rest of the instrument's silver plate finish is in excellent shape. There are some signs that the horn has been used, cleaned, and polished over the years, but all of the silver plate is 100% intact, which speaks to the credit of its previous owner.
A simple disassembly and cleaning in our ultrasonic tank is all that was required of our brass technician to prep this instrument for sale. Now that it's been cleaned, lubed, polished, and play-tested, it's your turn to spend some time with it! Come to Horn Stash today to try out this excellent Yamaha YTR-6810S piccolo trumpet!
