The Pocket Clarinet is the latest addition to the Prodige series of student instruments. Developed over three years of research by the *Laboratoire Interface Acoustique Musique et Facture Instrumentale (LIAMFI)—a collaboration between Buffet Crampon and the **Laboratoire de Mécanique et d’Acoustique, this innovative instrument offers young music learners the opportunity to practice on a genuine single-reed woodwind instrument.

The Pocket Clarinet features a Bb clarinet mouthpiece, with sound produced and resonated in a body crafted from Mozambique blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon). Special attention has been given to the design of the bore and tone holes to ensure a balanced, well-tuned sound across the instrument’s entire range.

Lightweight and easy to handle, the Prodige Pocket Clarinet is designed with an adjustable thumb rest for enhanced stability during play. This thoughtful design helps young musicians develop proper technique, providing an ideal transition to a full-sized Bb clarinet as they progress in their studies.
