From the Schilke company:
"The Schilke Handcraft offers a truly unique sound. With its extra-large bore and bell design, the Handcraft creates a dark, smokey tone that will project in any performance venue. Using some of the early design influences from Renold Schilke’s years prior to the development of the Schilke company, this trumpet reintroduces a rich smooth sound that has been unavailable for many years."
This series of trumpets is considered a 'spiritual successor' to the Martin Committee. Some would even consider Schilke's design here to be innovative compared to the original design of the Martin. Compared to the bright response of the HC1 yellow brass configuration, the one-piece copper bell on the HC2 offers a gorgeous, rich, warm tone that will blend when needed, and sparkle when pushed to fortissimo. We recommend trying this trumpet with multiple mouthpieces to get the full spectrum of sounds that this horn can produce.
This instrument came to us in nearly new condition, so all it just required a thorough cleaning before getting it prepared for sale. This cleaning consisted of a disassembly of the instrument before being placed in our ultrasonic bath. All parts of the trumpet were scrubbed before springs, felts & waterkey corks were replaced. The valves were then aligned and the slides were greased. Finally, it was reassembled and given a play-test.
Come check out this instrument today and discover the warm and delightful sound that it produces. This horn would be perfect in Big Bands, Community Orchestras or even a local Salsa group!
