This is one interesting horn! The Continental is a stencil horn; stencil horns are instruments made by a major manufacturer for another company and in this case, Yanagisawa created these saxophones for Continental. This saxophone was made with Yanagisawa parts from the T4 and T5 models. Continentals are made with all of the top quality materials from the Yanagisawa factory. Researching this particular brand has been challenging but from player feedback about the Continentals, they are great quality instruments with virtually no difference from made by Yanagisawa. This particular saxophone dates back to the 1960s.
The tenor arrived in our store in generally good condition. Our professional saxophone technician oiled and adjusted all the keys and mechanisms as well as replaced corks, felts and springs. The technician also replaced the Low C#, Bis Bb, G, A and all the palm keys.
The horn is in great condition and ready to play! It has a big sound, and feels very similar to a first-party Yanagisawa tenor.
