Are you looking for a vintage tenor? Then look no further than the Martin Committee III Tenor sax! This horn was made in late 1958 in Elkhart, Indiana. This definitely has that signature Martin sound- huge and warm. These are great saxophones that can compete with Mark VIs and SBAs for a fraction of the price but often get overlooked because of the ergonomics. Though compared with other Martin saxophones ergonomics on this instrument are much more user-friendly.
Even with the older keywork, this horn still has a fast key action. The tone holes are tapered on this tenor, meaning they are extra durable. Committee III's have an adjustable thumb rest and the signature outfacing neck screw; the neck serial number does match the body serial number. Comes with Martin tri- case (includes clarinet case and has space for flute case).
All original lacquer, but is showing signs or lacquer wear. This horn has been worked on by our professional saxophone technician. All the pads have been replaced; the body, neck, and keys have been ultrasonically cleaned. Dents were taken out under the low C# post. Then there was solder work done on the thumb rest and the lower guard post.
Come try this horn out today! It has a great sound and is a lot of fun to play!
