This Bach Stradivarius 238 C trumpet is a perfect instrument for any player looking for a gorgeous broad, dark sound from their C trumpet. It's got a wider taper in its throat and stem than most of Bach's other C trumpet offerings, and would likely be best suited for a section or a chamber ensemble, rather than solo playing. Players who have experience with this trumpet have commented on how free-blowing it is, despite being an ML bore.
Much of the beautiful tonal color from this particular trumpet may be due to the era it was manufactured in. This is a very early Elkhart instrument, and features a side-seam bell and 2-piece valve casings. The plating is almost entirely intact on this instrument, with one blemish on the underside of the bell where a player's left pointer finger may have been positioned. There are a few light scratches on the bell throat, and some evidence in the inner bell that this horn was kept on a stand by its previous owner.
Our professional brass technician cleaned this instrument in our ultrasonic tank and gave it a hand-polish, then a thorough play-test. No additional work was required to prep this trumpet for sale. A wooden triple case is included with space for 6 mouthpieces, along with a used Yamaha 17B4 mouthpiece. It's ready to go, so stop by soon before it gets snatched up!
Stand not included.
