This Burbank 900 Bb trumpet would be a perfect catch for anyone who is a fan of the old Burbank Benge sound. After Benge's name and designs were sold to the UMI corporation, Michael Thomas opened Burbank Trumpet Company to produce trumpets modeled after Benge's Burbank trumpets. And who was brought in to manufacture those trumpets? None other than famous trumpet maker Zig Kanstul! These trumpets were only made from the mid 1980s through the early 1990s, and were marketed as intermediate trumpets, but have proven to be performance-quality instruments.
While this trumpet shows some signs of use, overall, this trumpet is in great shape. Its silver plate is 99.9% intact, and the only scratches we can find on this horn is on the 2nd valve casing on its right side near the bottom cap, and on the outer bell rim facing the ground. Some early signs of pitting are beginning to show in this trumpet's leadpipe near the receiver, and in the distant future may need a leadpipe replacement.
When this trumpet arrived here in our shop, it needed some work done before going up for sale. Our professional brass technician worked out a dent in the bell, and needed to spend some extra time getting the tuning slides unstuck before disassembling for its ultrasonic cleaning. Everything is moving freely and easily, and the finish shined up very nicely.
It's ready to go, so stop by ASAP to check out this great, rare, Burbank 900 Bb trumpet!
