Are you looking for a beloved piece of saxophone history? Then look no further than the Conn 6M! The unofficial nick-name of this horn is 'The Naked Lady'; Conn never called these saxophones by that name (it was advertised as the Lady Face), but players have recognized this saxophone for the distinctive octave key on the underside of the neck and the women stenciled on the bell. This saxophone also stands out for Conn enthusiast as this horn has VIII stamped on the body and neck. These horns are highly regarded as well manufactured saxophones.

There are a few unique design features on the 6M. The main feature of these horns is the Conn microtuner. When the microtuner is turned, it extends or contracts the neck. There is one neck-pipe inside another one, and the inner pipe (which holds the mouthpiece) 'telescopes' when you turn the microtuner. Based on our research, you'd want to use a mouthpiece with a medium to large circular chamber to get the best results. Another feature of this horn is a G# trill key.  This horn has a bold and broad sound! Vintage saxophones are going to be harder to play in tune than any modern horn due to the manufacturing processes of the time. The key work is not as ergonomic as modern horn. A player will need to spend time with this saxophone to understand the intonation intricacies as well as getting your fingers used to it!

Our professional saxophone technician has looked over the horn and replaced the low Eb pad, leveled pads, straightened keys, replaced broken springs, and put this Conn 6M into proper working condition.  Cosmetically, the horn has major lacquer ware on the bell and some keys but for being a 80 year old horn, it looks great!

This is a great vintage saxophone for anyone looking for a piece of sax history, or anyone looking to have a sound that will want to stand out in their ensemble. Come check it out!
