Haynes flutes have boasted incredible build quality for generations, making instruments that last for multiple generations, which is why we usually have several in stock! This flute's headjoint, body, and keys are all made of solid silver, and overall, everything is in great shape, though there are some light surface scratches throughout the body, which all should be expected from an instrument over 60 years old! 

Although the closed‑hole C‑foot configuration on the Haynes Commercial flute might resemble student‑level flutes, these instruments were manufactured to a notably higher standard. With craftsmanship and performance comparable to many professional flutes, the Haynes Commercial occupies a unique position between “student” and “pro.” Its uncomplicated design, combined with a rich tonal character and effortless playability, has made it a standout choice among professional woodwind doublers seeking a solid, predictable instrument.

This instrument came to us in good condition. Our flute technician fully disassembled the instrument, ultrasonically cleaned it, and silver polished it. She did any necessary adjustments and replaced the F Pad and Headjoint cork. Finally, it got a playtest and is ready for its next home.
