Come check out the Holton H177 double French horn! The H177 was made by the Holton company with design help from Philip Farkas (Principal Horn player for the CSO for many years). They re-designed their double horns to be more player-friendly, specifically in the ergonomics of the left hand placement. As a member of the wildly successful Farkas model line, the H177 has built a reputation for being clear-voiced, with a supple tone, easy response, and great intonation.

When this horn arrived in our shop, it wasn’t in the best condition. Thanks to our professional brass technician, this French horn is back into great playing shape! The original bell was beyond repair, so our technician replaced it with a new, un-lacquered 177 bell section. The finger paddles also required brand new replacements. The original lacquer on the body of the H177 was wearing badly, so our technician attempted to completely strip the lacquer off of the body (slides and tubing included). Much of the lacquer has been removed, however there are some stubborn spots that faintly remain. Being a used horn, the body has minor scratches, a small dent on one of the slide crooks, and there are solder marks where the new bell was attached to the original body. It's a great player after all this work, so come see for yourself! Stop by Horn Stash today!
