Anyone looking for a vintage American made herald trumpet need look no further! For a horn manufactured OVER 100 YEARS AGO, this could be considered a piece of trumpet history. We've had several herald trumpets over the years, and none of them were manufactured in this style. Keeping good posture while holding this horn may be a challenge as the common intonation aids (3rd valve slide ring, pinky hook) are not present on this instrument, but a dedicated player will be able to adjust.
A basic cleaning and some minor dentwork is all that this instrument required before being listed for sale. Our professional brass technician took care of the work and spent time play-testing it before marking it as complete and bringing it to our retail department. It's a very unique piece, and would be a great addition to any collector's vault. Some cosmetic wear can be found on the bell stem and also on the 2nd valve tuning slide (surface scratches, minor lacquer spotting). There's also some evidence of solder work that was done (not by us) to the instrument's leadpipe connecting it to the valve section.
This instrument does not include its original case, nor does it include a case fit for a herald trumpet with a detachable bell. We strongly recommend finding a replacement case for this horn, regardless if you purchase this horn through our website or pick it up in our store. This is a very fragile horn, and shipping this instrument is not recommended, but the utmost care will be taken if you choose to order this to ship.
