Phaeton makes some of the most distinct-looking trumpets we've carried in our history, and their sound and response are just as excellent as the way they look. The combination of short-stroke pistons, its reverse leadpipe, the lacquered brushed brass finish, and the big 5" bell all work together to make a trumpet that would be ideal for solo work, combo playing, or commercial settings. It's got a dark, warm sound, and sizzles nicely in its upper register. The 0.460" bore combined with the reversed leadpipe support any amount of air a player has to offer, and the included case and mouthpiece make this an outfit that any commercial or jazz trumpeter should consider. 

Cosmetically, this horn is in beautiful shape. The only blemishes to be found are on the bottom caps. Some scratches can be found on the grips surrounding the caps, and a single scratch can be seen toward the bottom left-hand side of the 1st valve casing. Otherwise, this horn is immaculate. Our professional brass technician cleaned this trumpet in our ultrasonic tank, reassembled, replaced a single valve stem, worked out a tiny ping on the bell's throat, and play-tested after completing service.
