The Selmer K-Modified Bb Trumpet made in France by the Selmer Company. K-Modified refers to Selmer's decision to change a few key components of their instrument lines to make them more accessible to intermediate and seasoned professionals alike. The folks at Selmer thought their original trumpets were a little too resistant in their leadpipes and felt they needed to be opened up a bit, so they went from a medium bore to an medium-large bore, and changed a few manufacturing processes as well so more instruments could end up in the hands of players. This K-modified in particular is a lightweight model, manufactured using a thinner gauge of brass. Lightweight horns generally have a brighter response, as the metal of the instrument vibrates more freely than that of a standard-weight instrument. 

This horn has been well loved throughout its years. There is lacquer wear across a significant portion of the instrument, with the most wear on the outside of the bell. There are some minor scratches on the valve casings, but the cosmetic wear does not diminish this horn's awesome sound.

This instrument has been serviced by our professional brass technician to ensure everything is moving properly. It was disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned before being properly lubricated and reassembled. It was then given a polishing before the final play-test to ensure everything was in good working condition.
