From Selmer USA 1982 catalogue about the Omega:

“The details that set this instrument apart extend from the mouthpiece to the bell. Some are ingenious refinements in the action, like the articulated left little finger spatulas. Others, among them the rib mounted key posts, make for greater durability or more stable regulation. A number of details- the distinctive bell ring, the octave key, and key guards- are structural improvements which are also familiar visual signs of a Selmer”.

The Selmer brand makes great horns and this Selmer Omega is Selmer USA’s response to Yamaha’s intermediate and budget friendly saxophones. Production of the Omega’s began in the 1980’s with serial numbers starting at 820XXX, meaning this saxophone was built in the early to mid-80’s in the United States. The look and feel of this model of saxophone is inspired by the Mark IVs.

Our professional woodwind technician has serviced this instrument, adjusting and oiling the keys and then spending quality time play-testing the horn. This instrument has mild lacquer wear on the instrument; found on the clothes guard, bottom bow of the instrument (near low C), on the palm keys and on the hinge rods. There is acid bleed on the neck strap and near the thumb rest and mild scratches on the bow and the bell. Additional photos available if needed!

This Omega is a fun horn to play! It includes the high F# key. Has great key action, very responsive. Great intonation and tone. Also includes a tri-case (holds clarinet and flute). This Would be great for anyone looking for a step up instrument!
