The Selmer "S Brace" trumpet was a horn that famous trumpeter Harry James preferred playing in his early days. He spent so much time with this instrument over time, that he was asked by Selmer to be photographed with the trumpet for their sales catalog, so many people associate him with this trumpet. This early version of Selmer's Signet trumpet is an excellent candidate for anyone looking to snag a classic jazz trumpet, but isn't looking to spend their life savings. This distinctive trumpet features Selmer's vintage dark lacquer that just looks better with age, and also comes with the original case and a Selmer X13 mouthpiece. Selmer's "S Braces" make this trumpet stand out from the rest of the section, and the tuning slide features a locking mechanism to help prevent accidental damage.
