This Selmer Omega Tenor Saxophone is part of the highly regarded line of American-made Selmer horns produced in the late 1980s and early 1990s, before the model was officially renamed the TS101 and production shifted locations. Often referred to as “Omega” saxophones (though not marked as such), these instruments were Selmer USA’s ambitious answer to their Paris-made professional models like the Mark VII and Super Action 80.

Built during the peak of Selmer USA's craftsmanship, this horn reflects a level of quality and attention to detail that some argue diminished in later iterations. The body, keywork, and overall construction are solid and durable, offering a warm, full-bodied tone with excellent projection and intonation.

These saxophones are highly sought after by players who want pro-level performance without the price tag of French-made Selmer models. If you're looking for a well-built, great-playing tenor that stands the test of time, this Omega is an outstanding choice.

There are signs of wear throughout the body, including scratches and wear in the lacquer, which is to be expected of an instrument of this age. Beyond cosmetics, it is an excellent player. When it arrived in our shop, it underwent a complete disassemble and clean, adjust and oil, and minor dentwork on the lip of the bell. This is a great option for an intermediate or professional player looking to add tenor sax to their skillset.
