"2019 sees the TRADITION clarinet donning a new dress, worthy of the resounding success generated by her big sister, LEGENDE, after her public debut in 2017.

'Sound at its purest level' has become the motto of this new family of cylindrical bores, descended from the BC20, a clarinet iconic of the brand. The woody, well-centred tone conquered the world, inspiring us to innovate, transform and reinvent ourselves.

This new opus offers enhanced technical characteristics borrowed directly from the high-range model, LEGENDE, with its metal tenon caps and a low F correction key while preserving the identical acoustic attributes of the first version. Its new vertical medallion lends an elegance befitting a member of this new bore family. The natural, unstained buffed wood that make this clarinet, as well as its traditionally crafted keywork, all done in the workshops in Mantes la Ville, France, are what make this an exceptional professional clarinet, one that both literally and figuratively shines.

We are thrilled to have such a fantastic clarinet on our shelves! This 1st generation Tradition clarinet comes to us from a player that look absolutely excellent care of this instrument, and we're actually their go-to shop for maintenance over the last several years. The most notable service done to this clarinet was its most recent one, which was some minor crack repair. A very thin hairline crack formed on the upper joint going from below the C trill key down to the F# trill key, and that crack took 7 pins to seal up. Some additional adjustments were done before getting a play-test, now that it's passed all its tests, it's here ready and waiting for you! 

While designing this clarinet, Buffet brought in some serious players from France and Germany, and used their input to perfect this design. The combination of its new cylindrical bore design, silver plated keys, and flat bell bottom, all make this clarinet incredibly responsive, and would be suitable in any setting, but would probably best used in an orchestral setting.
