Waymon Reed was an American jazz trumpeter who played with several jazz greats including Count Basie, B.B. King, and James Brown among others. He played on multiple Grammy nominated and winning albums before his passing in 1983. Founded in 1928 by Domenico Calicchio in New York, Calicchio handmakes all of their trumpets and mouthpieces. This trumpet is one of the last made by Calicchio's founder Domenico Calicchio before his passing in 1979.

Our professional brass technician lubricated, reassembled, and hand-polished this instrument. It was play-tested for quality assurance, and was found to be in great playing condition. This instrument is in great cosmetic condition and plays beautifully. It has a bright tone and slots very nicely in the upper register.
