If you're looking for a historic horn with a lot of character and unique keywork, you should check out this Martin Handcraft Typewriter Alto Sax. Martin "Typewriters" were manufactured for an extremely limited time frame, so it's exciting that we have one in our inventory. There are pearls on all key touches and the small circular design of these keys give it a typewriter appearance. If you can work through some of the ergonomic idiosyncrasies of this horn, it's a very unique collector's instrument to consider.

Our professional woodwind technician worked very hard to get this horn prepared for sale. Our technician did minor work to strip the lacquer to get the Typewriter back to the original silver plate. The horn received an ultrasonic cleaning along with a hand polishing afterwards. Many pads on the horn (C,B,A,G,F#,F, E, Eb, D, low B and low Bb) were replaced. Then our technician leveled the pads, straightened the keys, replaced broken springs, and regulated the mechanisms.

This vintage horn has a great story! It's in great condition and we highly recommend spending time with this saxophone in our recital hall. We see this horn being sold to a collector or someone who is specifically looking the classic pre-war Martin sound.
