The Martin "Typewriter" Handcraft Master Tenor is unlike any other vintage saxophone you have ever seen! The Martin "Typewriter" model has been aptly nicknamed because they are adorned with pearl buttons on all key touches (including the table keys, low C and Eb keys, palm keys, side keys, octave keys and all finger touches). This key arrangement gives the horn both the look and feel of an old fashioned typewriter. While this key work may take some getting used to for players accustomed to modern saxophones, this Martin would be a fine addition to anyone's saxophone collection. These saxes weren't in production for very long at all, so they're harder and harder to find with each passing day. In other words - hurry over!

Underneath all the interesting key work, is still a Handcraft Martin saxophone body and has a great rich sound. The "Typewriter" here at Horn Stash was altered before arriving here. The pearl key work has been removed on the low C-Eb and the table (Bb-B-C#-G#) keys. This makes the saxophone more ergonomic and inline with modern saxophone key work. There are still pearls on the palm, side and octave keys. There is lacquer wear on the body, keys and bell (especially on the back of the bell) due to many years of use. While here, our professional saxophone technician only had to make a few minor adjustments to get the saxophone sealing properly. It is ready to be played!

This is one of a kind vintage horn and has a great story! Its in great condition but we highly recommend spending time with this saxophone in our recital hall. We envision this horn being sold to a collector or someone who is specifically looking the classic pre-war Martin sound.
